Big Ambitions has two dates that matter: the day it became playable, and the day it stopped being Early Access.

- 1.0 full release: 28 August 2026
That is roughly three and a half years of public development between first playable build and full launch — a long Early Access period by any standard, and the reason so much of the game's systems depth exists at all.
What you could do from day one
Even in Early Access the pitch was fully formed. Your bank account is empty, but your ambitions are big: go from nothing to the most prominent tycoon in New York, start a business, work smart, make it thrive, and enjoy your life. Starting a business in Big Ambitions means starting small — the opening loop is take a loan, rent a building, and open your first shop.
The full release kept that structure and finished the systems around it. You can start your own gift shop, supermarket, coffee shop, law firm, clothing store, liquor store, florist, night club and more. From there you take out a loan, rent a building, design the logo, renovate the store, get stock, manage your money, hire staff, and build your infrastructure — and eventually start importing products from the harbour and distributing them through a network of warehouses.
Real estate works the same way as retail: enter any building in New York and buy it, going from a small apartment to a dream penthouse in midtown, a luxurious townhouse in Hell's Kitchen, or a series of skyscrapers.
Does the release date change how you should play?
If you are starting now, you are playing the 1.0 build — the complete version. Guides written during Early Access (including several community threads from 2023) describe systems that have since been rebalanced, so treat older profit figures as historical rather than current.
If you played during Early Access and are returning for 1.0, the biggest practical change is that the game is no longer a moving target: the core loop, business types, and progression are finished.
